Preface to the Special issue of WG21 on “Advanced Manufacturing and Materials"

This special issue on the exhibition in Barcelona and Surrey contains a broad variety of papers related to innovative pavilions. Most of the authors are related to the departments of built environment and connected to the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures and International Journal of Space structures. In October 2019 there was a iass conference “Form and Force” in Barcelona with an exhibition in the InterContinental Barcelona Hotel. In august 2021 there was a iass conference “Inspiring the next generation” in Surrey on the campus of the University of Surrey. Due to the pandemic situation this conference was online
